One thing that you just never get sick of is a chance encounter with the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. Never the same, never any particular time to catch them, it always reminds me of just how small we are, and just floors me. We caught last nites show on the way home from town around 9:30PM. At 12:30AM, it was still going on and at one point had me awestruck at the sharp flares of color directly overhead, larger than the lens could cover with just one shot.

A little fall.
A few weeks ago we took a road trip through the upper peninsula and into Hope. The plan was, a weekend of relaxation. Reality was, after the state was pummeled for a good week and a half with several early winter storms, our weekend of relaxation trned into a weekend of 100 mile an hour winds, a continuous drenching of rain, and fear that the Kenai River, at 6 feet above flood stage, wouldn't allow us to come home where it was litterally to the highways edge through Cooper Landing coming out of the pass. Yeah. So much for relaxation! But we got some good fall color! And good thing, cuz, it all got blown off in the wind the next day!
The last one was of a hostile local who apparently was apprehensive about having her picture taken. You cant tell, but the wind was blowing pretty hard. I thought it was fitting!
